The University of California, Berkeley, or "Cal", Golden Bears compete as members of the Pacific-12 Conference in NCAA Division I FCS football and in NCAA Division I basketball. California is a public institution located in the East San Francisco Bay community of Berkeley, California. The University of California System is the official land-grant recipient for the state of California; Cal-Berkeley was originally the designated campus which received the land-grant benefits, but those functions are now generally served by Cal-Davis. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 22,000.
