The California State University, Chico, generally referred to as Chico State, Wildcats compete as members of the California Collegiate Athletic Association in NCAA Division II basketball. The school has not sponsored football since 1997. Chico State is a public institution located in Chico, California, about two hours north of Sacramento. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 14,000.
