The North Carolina Central University, or NCCU, Eagles compete as independents in NCAA Division I FCS football and NCAA Division I basketball, and will be joining the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in both sports in 2011. NCCU (formerly "North Carolina College at Durham"), a historically black college, is a public institution located in the Triangle city of Durham, North Carolina. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 4,000.
