The Peach Bowl is a bowl game held in Atlanta, Georgia since 1968. For the first three years, the game was held at Georgia Tech's Grant Field, before moving to Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium where it remained until 1991. It has since been played at the Georgia Dome. From 2006-2013 the Peach Bowl moniker was in disuse, as the bowl was simply branded as the Chick-fil-A Bowl. As part of the bowl's inclusion in the College Football Playoff system, however, the traditional name was returned.

The Atlantic Coast Conference generally, but not exclusively, hosted the game during its first ten years. After that, the bowl invited two at-large teams; from 1993-2013, the game was an ACC/Southeastern Conference affair. As part of the College Football Playoff, however, the bowl will now receive two of the top 12 teams in the nation in years in which it does not host a playoff semifinal.
