The Western Carolina University Catamounts compete as members of the Southern Conference in NCAA Division I FCS football and in NCAA Division I basketball. Western Carolina is a public institution located in the town of Cullowhee, North Carolina, in the western tip of the state. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 9,000.
