The Victory University Eagles compete in men's basketball without any affiliation, having left the NAIA (and temporarily suspending its athletic programs) in 2009. The school does not sponsor women's basketball. Victory, formerly known as "Crichton College" and "Mid-South Bible College", is a private non-denominational Christian institution located in Memphis, Tennessee. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000. The school's teams have had numerous nicknames; "Saints" prior to 1985, "Crusaders" from 1985-1989, "Cougars" from 1989-1996, and "Cardinals" from 1996-2005, and "Comets" from 2005 until the school's name change in 2009.
