The State University of New York at Cortland, or Cortland State, Red Dragons compete in NCAA Division III as members of the New Jersey Athletic Conference for football, and the State University of New York Athletic Conference for basketball. Cortland State is a public institution located in Cortland, New York, about a half-hour south of Syracuse. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 6,000.
