Maxwell Collegiate Coach of the Year Award
From Varsity Pride
The Maxwell Collegiate Coach of the Year Award is a college football award given each year to the nation's most outstanding coach as determined by the Maxwell Football Club. From 1989-2009, the award was known as the George Munger Award before being renamed in 2010 in honor of Joe Paterno. However, as a result of the sexual abuse scandal at Penn State in 2011 which led to Paterno's ouster, the Maxwell Football Club announced that the award would be retired; they then decided to continue after all under the Maxwell name.
