NAIA District 16 Men's Basketball

NAIA District 16 primarily consisted of NAIA schools in Missouri.

When the NAIA split into divisions in 1992, the district split and teams participated in both divisions. Additionally, Division I teams from District 10 were reassigned to District 16.

Primary sources for information on this district include the Kansas City Star, the Saint Joseph Gazette, the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch, the Cape Girardeau Southeast Missourian, and the Nevada Daily Mail.

Formats

1951-54: Best-of-three series between the champions of the Missouri Collegiate Athletic Union and the Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association

1955; 1970-74; 1992-93(Division II only): Four-team playoff.

1956; 1967-69: Three-team playoff

1957-66: Two teams played a best-of-three series.

1975-77: Six-team playoff

1978-93(1992-93 Division I only): Eight-team playoff
