NAIA District 1 Men's Basketball
NAIA District 1 primarily consisted of NAIA schools in Washington. Alaska was added to the district in the 1950s, British Columbia was added in 1968, and remained there until the abolition of district qualification after the 1993 season. In 1973 only, District 1 and District 5 (at that time, Montana) played in a bi-district playoff to determine a single entry into the tournament; Alaska-Fairbanks lost this playoff to Eastern Montana.
When the NAIA split into divisions in 1992, the Division II schools in District 1 were assigned to District 2.

† - Central Washington was declared ineligible for the 1983 NAIA Men's Basketball Tournament because of player eligibility issues, and thus forfeited their district title to runner-up Saint Martin's. Under NAIA bylaws, this made the district's berth in the tournament an at-large, which was awarded to West Virginia Wesleyan.
